The Inconvenience Store - Launched 6 weeks before the 2024 election, it’s a mobile e-commerce-based PSA that takes users step-by-step through the challenges of accessing abortion care in states with a 6-week ban, all while highlighting the complex “safety measures” imposed by anti-abortion lawmakers. With a name that carries pointed irony, The Inconvenience Store offers a sobering look at the barriers and bureaucratic hurdles many face when attempting to access care.&#38;nbsp;By simulating the barriers faced by women as they access abortion healthcare and designed to be unshoppable, The Inconvenience Store is full of pop-ups, age-gates, and conflicting information as a timer runs down the days until an abortion is illegal.&#38;nbsp;

PROBLEM In an industry that loves to tell love stories, how does Zola do it in a way to stand for modern love and commitment?

IDEA Take the icon of the wedding bouquet, something temporal, and turn it into something lasting, like the love of couples who put in the work and are going into commitment with eyes wide open.

Bar Aurora ︎$73k Bar TabPROBLEM On any given Saturday in São Paulo, Brazil, approximately 30% of the people driving on the streets had been drinking. Because of safety concerns, people couldn’t imagine relying on public transportation or paying for a taxi. IDEA Show people the cost of a taxi was nothing compared to the cost of drinking and driving.
A little background, when someone drinks a lot, there’s a good chance the bar tender is going to try to slip a few of their friend’s drinks onto their bar tab. This is why people are diligent about checking their bar tab for extra charges. So we added some extra charges, the price of a trip to the hospital, a wheelchair, rehabilitation, time away from work, etc. Each bar tab was padded with the real costs of drinking and driving. At first people got mad, then they got the message. 


Results











With a 80% increase in people taking taxis home from Bar Aurora and Boteco Ferraz, they were able to keep their patrons safe and coming back for another evening of drinks and fun.

Ziploc ︎BEAMS X ZIPLOCPROBLEM To unlock growth in the US, Ziploc was fighting to attract new users to the brand. And one of the hardest audiences to win? The under-30 crowd of younger millenials and gen z.
IDEA We leverage Japanese Ziploc street wear to earn US street cred by reimagining the idea of a fashion drop.

BEAMS x Ziploc partnered with Fred Segal to launch a socially-driven activation in&#38;nbsp; LA in the week before Coachella. We used Japanese street wear to activate a city-wide-hunt for the freshest virtual drop ever imagined, and seeded a suite of lightweight, razor sharp assets among the micro-influencers keeping our style-seeking Gen Z/Millennial audience on their toes.

BROCKHEIM REVIEW

PROBLEM With only a few regular season games to go, Ziploc faced slowing sales on the NFL licensed Ziploc brand bags and containers. The majority of sales for these products would need to come from Amazon.com which is especially challenging considering the vanity bags are considered an impulse-buy. 


IDEA We tapped into the reality of rivalry to spark and emotional need to buy our bags before the season was out.






82% of online shoppers consult the reviews before making a purchase. So, we had the idea to take the reviews to the consumers. We found real life Amazon Vine Reviewer “Brockheim” who had already reviewed one of the NFL licensed Green Bay Packers Ziploc Brand Bags. His review was pure magic. He, as a dyed in the wool Chicago Bears fan, had some really imaginative ways to utilize the competitions bags.&#38;nbsp; So we comissioned him to write some more reviews, one for each team that faced the Bears for the remainder of the season. Then, partnering with Bleacher Report, we filmed “Brockheim” delivering these reviews from his mother’s basement in his Bear Cave. We posted them across all of Bleacher Reports channels, releasing one per week until the regular season came to an end. 





And then the legal department from the Chicago Bears called and asked that we either give them some* money or stop making these. Thing is, we’d already made some quickies for the post-season, which you can now enjoy.

Eggo ︎L’EGGO WITH EGGOPROBLEM When your tagline is more recognizable than your logo or any cartoon critter in the Kellogg’s portfolio, how do you move away from a line that at its core is promoting morning conflict, something parents want nothing to do with?&#38;nbsp;

IDEA Talk to the parents, not the kids. Invite them to lean into the sorta-home-made-nature of Eggo waffles to take the pressure off their hectic mornings.&#38;nbsp;
A 90’s charity anthem is nothing without the giving. We built an API that tracked the hardest mornings for parents with traffic, weather, school closings and negative news stories. When things reached a boiling point, we released free waffles to help parents L’Eggo. On Daylight Savings day we knew it was going to be extra rough so we gave out 1M free waffles in one morning.

Cadbury ︎CARAMILK SECRET CONFIRMEDPROBLEM Caramilk is a popular candy bar in Canada best known for its enduring ‘Caramilk Secret’ advertising campaign. Revenue was driven by a small group of loyal users made up mostly of older millennials and Gen Xers. To continue to grow, we needed to win back younger consumers. Younger buyers had memories of eating Caramilk, but the brand had lost relevance in recent years, not surprising given their best-known campaign was almost three decades old!&#38;nbsp;

After being exposed just once to their video posts on Twitter, 49% of users recalled seeing it and 65% of campaign awareness at the end of the campaign. It surpassed CPG benchmarks by 200%, and saw that intent turn up in sales.

It’s become more about the kids and their charming, but rarely redeemed coupon-books than about the moms it’s meant to celebrate. Kraft exists to release pressures in the parenting journey, creating win-win scenarios for moms and kids. So how does our brand break through and help moms get what they deeply desire for Mother’s Day?

IDEA We gave mothers the one thing they need. The gift of not being needed. A survey done by Care.com showed that the #1 thing moms wanted for Mother’s Day in 2019 was a little time to herself. So we got to work figuring out what a little time would look like. And it looked like paying for a sitter.

Aldi ︎FRIEND SAVERS
PROBLRM Aldi does things differentli (not a typo, a tagline) in order to save people the most money possible on groceries. But, super duper affordable groceries and a model that seems odd, leaves many people thinking the store is more suspect than anything else. We had to demystify our quirky model to show people that paying less doesn’t mean sacrificing quality or selection. 


IDEA

 Invite people to be a better friend by not letting their loved ones spend too much on groceries.




  

 

                      
        

RESULTS

Drove significant (80-90%) increase in Brand Awareness, Quality and Price Perception, and Likelihood to recommend to a friend. Which is pretty much what we set out to do.

THE EVERYDAY COLLECTION











PROBLEM Target was new to the grocery game. Everyone knows you can’t get out of Target for under $50, so grocery became a really clear opportunity to draw shoppers to the store in between the big stock-up trips. They had to change some pretty well-baked consumer behavior and convince people that it was going to be a much more rewarding trip than the Krogers of the world could offer.

Help the company that brought design to the masses, bring design to the grocery in The Everyday Collection.

Target ︎TARGET RUNPROBLEM In a world before Target grocery, people only went to Target once a month, to stock up on all the paper products and washing pods. So, getting them to think of Target as a place to pick up milk and eggs, it wasn’t easy. &#38;nbsp;
IDEA #TargetRun. People already said it. But a 2-hour trip to Target is hardly a run. We looked at the behavior of grabbing a bigass cart and filling it to the top and thought, what if we could make this feel lighter, quicker, like the sort of shopping trip that could really be called a run? The basket became our storytelling unlock. By showing little stories based on what fit in the very sexy Target basket, we were able to reframe the reason for people to go to their Happy Place.&#38;nbsp;

Scarborough Health Network ︎

LOVE, SCARBOROUGH
PROBLEM Scarborough is a city the eastern part of the Greater Toronto area and the most diverse part of the city. However, it’s long been an afterthought. In fact, it makes up over 25% of the city's population but its hospitals receive less than 1% of the donations. Canadians pride themselves on their fair an equitable healthcare, but for Scarborough, things didn’t look terribly fair.

IDEA&#38;nbsp;Send a letter from one city to it’s wealthy neighbor and ask for help.&#38;nbsp;

We wrote that letter, in the handwriting of the people who would benefit most from more donations. The handwriting became a film, a font, out of home signs and murals, tee-shirts worn by professional athletes, politicians and other influential people from Scarborough.

PROBLEM Planned Parenthood has spent decades carrying the flag for reporoductive rights and healthcare. But the tide was turning and more bans were being implemented in each election cycle. It was enough to lose hope and for many people, the fight seemed over. We needed a campaign that would give people back their voice and let them feel all the voices rising around them.
IDEA Planned Parenthood needed to give the people the tools of change and just step back and amplify people’s voice so they felt like they were being heard.&#38;nbsp;
Bans Off Our Bodies became the sound of that collective voice.
